Situation

A small CPG company recognized the rapid spread of Covid-19 in the US as an opportunity to create and commercialize new products and grow their brand.  However, the company did not have any product development expertise and had limited budgets.  Furthermore, many key raw materials were in short supply and often not available.

Approach

As their product development partner, DCIL quickly developed formulations to ensure they could be produced and launched rapidly.  Due to strong patents by a key competitor, novel non-infringing formulations needed to be developed while working closely with the manufacturing partner to scaleup the products.

Impact

With a patent filed, and the rapid prototyping and scale-up work, products were able to launch within a few months. These products are currently being sold by online retailers and are well received by consumers.
